GETTING THERE

Although Whistler BC is a beautiful destination, it is 2 ½ hours out of Vancouver BC . The nearest airport to Whistler is Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The map below will give you an idea of the location.

BEST TIMES TO DRIVE

Construction is planned to avoid the busiest travel times. When you're most likely to travel the Sea-to-Sky Highway, we're least likely to have delays or closures.

For safety reasons, delays of 0 - 5 minutes West Vancouver <-> Whistler may occur occasionally to allow work vehicles to cross the highway or enter into traffic.

We have no scheduled construction delays or closures during the following times:

6 am to 9 am Monday to Friday 5 pm to 8 pm Monday to Thursday
noon Friday to 10 pm Sunday.

During non-closure, "off-peak" periods, remember 30-30-45. Construction related traffic delays are coordinated so that total construction delays should not exceed:

30 minutes for trips between West Vancouver and Squamish 30 minutes for trips between Squamish and Whistler
45 minutes for trips between West Vancouver and Whistler.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

Travel arrangements to the meeting are the responsibility of the participant. We are considering the importance of making some contingency plans regarding travel. In our opinion, the easiest and most cost effective route to and from Whistler is by Whistler Express bus, however should there be a consensus for bus service, coaches will be available to transport passengers from Vancouver to Whistler and return. Other methods of transportation include: Pacific Coach Lines, Whistler Mountaineer, Heli Jet and Rental Cars.

Please note: the conference will commence on Tuesday August 12, 2008 with lunch served from 12:00 noon to 1:15, welcoming remarks at 1:15, Session 1 & 2 at 1:30pm followed by the Ron Ross Award and Oration at 6:45pm finishing up with the Opening Reception.
